Today’s professionals are facing a diverse range of social-ecological challenges, including climate change and biodiversity loss, two of the most pressing problems facing humanity today. Their interdependence demands unprecedented cooperation and collaboration between professionals and practitioners from many sectors.
This cutting edge program is for people who wish to advance their environmental careers or to transition from other areas into the burgeoning environmental field. The Master of Arts in Environmental Practice (MAEP) will give you the skills and knowledge to prepare you for the rapidly growing range of environmental careers emerging to address those and a host of other urgent environmental and current development path challenges.
Fully online, the MAEP is a flexible program that you can complete at your own pace, and focus on your own interests. The program is designed to accommodate the schedules of working professionals and those in remote communities or whose situation may not allow them to come to campus.
In order to keep pace with the rapidly evolving environmental field in the US and globally, you may take up to three courses at the University of Denver and with permission, you can also take the new Graduate Certificate in Science and Policy of Climate Change as part of your program. The program normally takes 2-4 years to complete depending on the number of courses you take each session.
This program and the Master of Science in Environmental Practice are developed in partnership with ECO Canada (Environmental Careers Organization of Canada) and address the academic and knowledge requirements consistent with National Occupational Standards and Environmental Professional (EP) certification.
